His talent is huge and impossible to miss, and it’s matched by his staggering musical ambition — as guitar-slinger, songwriter or vocalist.

DAVID VEST & WILLING VICTIMS FRIDAY, SEPT. 22• $25/$30
A Maple Blues Award winner who now lives in Canada, David Vest is an authentic, Southern-bred boogie-woogie piano player, blues shouter and world-class entertainer. His first Canadian recording,~East Meets Vest, was named one of the best blues albums of 2012 by Holger Petersen of CBC’s Saturday Night Blues and earned a Maple nomination for Recording of the Year. He played his first paying gig in 1957, and he opened for Roy Orbison on New Year’s Day 1962.

JACK de KEYZER SATURDAY, SEPT. 23 • $30/$35
Guitarist, Singer, Song Writer Jack de Keyzer plays the blues world wide, from Alert, Arctic Circle to Puerto Escondido, Mexico; from Athens, Greece to Hornby Island, BC and many points between. One of Canada’s most awarded and ~in demand live performers and session guitarists, Jack has relased 9 CD’s and 1 DVD. He has also played on hundreds of recordings and live sessions with artists ranging from Etta James to Ronnie Hawkins and ~Bo Diddley to Blue Rodeo.

THREE KINGS SATURDAY, SEPT. 30 • $35/$38
Blues guitar royalty hosts a pantheon of string benders, but the family name King resonates for many as the heart of genre. All now passed, B. B. King, Albert King and Freddie King were soulful and powerful performers, influencing the direction of popular music and an enormous range of guitarists such as Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimmy Page. Toronto’s tribute to the “Three Kings” is hosted by JAZZ.FM91 radio host and guitar legend Danny Marks with special guests Paul DesLauriers, Dylan Wickens, Shawn Kellerman and Jesse O’Brien. This annual event is produced by Blues’In Toronto.~

ANGEL FORREST FRIDAY, OCT. 6 • $25/$30
With a career spanning 27 years, nine albums and~the winner of the Maple Blues Award for Female Vocalist of the Year in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016, Quebec blues belter Angel Forrest released her new album, Angel’s 11 on March 11th, 2016. She had the chance to share the stage with many artists including Jarvis Church, Burton Cummings, Shawn Phillips & Thornetta Davis.

ETTA JAMES TRIBUTE FRIDAY, OCT. 13 • $25/$38
Ask a woman blues singer who they admire, who influenced them the most, and who is their favourite? Etta James is the answer. No other female blues singer strikes such a unanimous and resounding response. “Tell Mama”, “I’d Rather Go Blind”, “At Last” were some of her signature songs in a career that began at the age of 14 and spanned decades until her death in Los Angeles in 2012. Guest vocalists include Crystal Shawanda, Cheryl Lescom, Quisha Wint and Shahi Teruko all accompanied by Hamilton’s favourite blues pianist Jesse O’Brien.

JOHN HAMMOND FRIDAY, OCT.27/SAT.OCT 28 • $55/$60
Man of the Moment. This veteran bluesman has made his own history, and helped make history for others (including Hendrix and Dylan) to the benefit of us all. Hammond was honoured with two awards at the Blues Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Awards in Memphis, on May 7, 2015, for Best Acoustic Blues Album for “Timeless” and Best Acoustic Blues Artist!
