Strawbs • Monday, October 15 • $55 Advance/ $60 Door

As Strawbs move gracefully into their fifth decade of music making, it is still difficult to categorise the unique sound that has made them Britain’s most successful international progressive folk-rock band. David Cousins, who leads the group, has been described by the influential All Music Guide as: “the most talented Dylan influenced songwriter to come out of England”. Strawbs are often mentioned in the same breath as progressive rock bands like Yes, King Crimson, and the Moody Blues. It is well documented that Rick Wakeman left Strawbs to join Yes but returned to appear at Strawbs 40th Anniversary Celebration.

I just bought my tickets, my gosh, it's a nearly sold-out show except for standing room and 19 seats at tables: 1 ticket at 214 Join-up table of 6, Stage left front table 110 for a party of 4, Stage right front table 118 for a party of 10, back corner table 218 for a party of 4.

But, I snagged table 104, *the* front-row dead-centre 2-seat table for me and my daughter. Maybe not the best for sound, but to experience the band up this close... priceless. :D

Who else is going? Now you'll know where to find me. 8-)

I got browsing around on Hughs Room Concert calendar, and realized there's a second (first?) Strawbs show added on Sunday October 14th :D https://hughsroomlive.showare.com/order ... rc=default

There's about the same number of seats left as for the Monday show, (not many): a couple of tables for 2, a couple of tables for 4, a table for 6, and 1 or 2 single seats at join-up tables.

I'm still happy to be going to the Monday night show, it works better for us. Get on it, or miss out, either way. Hope to meet some Marsdenians there on Monday Oct 15. 8-)

Think good thoughts about Dave Cousins' health in the meantime. http://www.strawbsweb.co.uk/index0.asp
