Field Trip. 2015. Here we go!

Toronto’s downtown community music and arts festival is thrilled to announce its 2015 lineup, and the return of the city’s favourite, one-of one-of-a-kind cultural celebration, Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7.

This year we’ll continue to expand Field Trip from its organic beginnings into Toronto’s essential world-class, boutique music event, held in the gorgeous confines of the city's Historic Fort York & Garrison Common. As it has been since Day 1, Field Trip remains driven by the themes of community and discovery, and this year’s edition will again be programmed beyond music to focus on highlighting Toronto’s best culinary offerings, as well as collaborative explorations on the themes of food, drink, art, photography, technology, fashion and more.

Field Trip 2015 will be headlined by internationally celebrated rock acts Alabama Shakes and My Morning Jacket. Other highlights from the carefully curated mixture of international and domestic talent include UK pop sensation Marina & The Diamonds, indie favourites The War On Drugs and Father John Misty, Hamilton royalty Arkells, the dark synths of Purity Ring, the alluring R&B of Rhye, hip hop hall of famers De La Soul, the feel good soul of Lee Fields & The Expressions, UK psych upstarts Temples, and many more.

Field Trip also worked hard to bring together some very unique performances, including one Toronto children’s music pioneers Sharon & Bram and From Jamaica To Toronto, a not to be missed lesson in a sonic migration that’s helped define the city’s musical history.

Arts & Crafts entrants to 2015 programming include BSS co-founder Kevin Drew’s collaboration with ‘Sugar Sugar’ songwriter Andy Kim and much-loved label mainstays Dan Mangan + Blacksmith and Hayden. Two of the label’s newest signees, Edmonton’s Calvin Love and Toronto’s Absolutely Free, will join a retrospective anniversary performance of Apostle Of Hustle’s seminal album Folkloric Feel.

2015 also brings an exciting expansion of Field Trip’s ‘Day Camp’ programming, where children 12 years old and under are again admitted for free to enjoy a wealth of youth-focused activities and performances. This much is sure: Field Trip’s 2015 experience will be second to no other. Over the coming months we’ll be making several announcements about the full run of incredible programming, which has been months in the making. In the meantime, Field Trip tickets go on sale here Friday, February 6 at 10am EST. Full details below.

“Field Trip is our annual love letter to our hometown. We work tirelessly to create a homegrown, internationally relevant and uniquely Toronto music and arts festival. I hope you will join us June 6th and 7th at Fort York and help us make this year’s special Field Trip moments the best yet.”
