TORONTO, ON, May 26 | The largest Pride celebration in North America, Pride Toronto,
announced today its 2015 festival line-up of marquee events, headliners and performances, to
recognize the power and beauty of diversity, during its 35th festival edition, June 19-28, 2015.

Having welcomed the world and raised the bar for Pride celebrations last year, the Pride
Toronto 2015 festival will build on WorldPride’s energy and momentum with a full program
celebrating the lives and stories of the LGBTQ+ community.

The festival will feature icons such as Pussy Riot, Cyndi Lauper, Chaz Bono and John Waters, in addition to welcoming human rights leaders and legendary performers to the hottest stages and events in Toronto.

HONOURED POSITIONS

Pride Parade Grand Marshall David Furnish, Husband to Elton John and Chairman of the Elton John Aids Foundation.

Recipients of Pride Toronto’s top recognitions for 2015 will include International Grand
Marshalls Bollywood star and United Nations champion Celina Jaitly, feminist protest art
collective Pussy Riot and artist Cyndi Lauper; ; Honoured Group PrideHouse Toronto; and the first-ever Pride Toronto Youth Ambassador, 14 year-old social media sensation Brendan Jordan.

John Waters brings his famed lecture series “The Filthy World” exclusively to Pride Toronto in
An Evening With John Waters (Monday, June 22 at the Ryerson Theater).

Annual crowd favourite events return for Pride Toronto’s 2015 festival, including the official
Pride Flag Raising (Monday, June 22), Street Fair (Friday, June 26 – Sunday, June 28), Dyke
March (Saturday, June 27), Family Pride (Saturday, June 27 – Sunday, June 28), Clean
Sober and Proud space (Friday, June 26 – Sunday, June 28), and of course, the Pride Parade
(Sunday, June 28).

Additionally, Pride Toronto will showcase LGBTQ+ events from four of Toronto’s major cultural
organizations (including The Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Harbourfront Centre, Buddies
In Bad Times Theatre and OCAD University) through its Major Partners Events program, and
over 50 registered community Affiliate Events.

DIRTY DISCO

Originally created and curated 13 years ago by the late Dr. Trance (aka the incredible Don Berns), our Dirty Disco party makes its triumphant return to Pride Toronto in 2015. We’re inviting you to once again get down and dirty with us!

DJs showcase their electronic musical talents at this all-ages, all-day event. Hosted during the day by Miss Raquel and followed by the Juno award-winning MC Flipside in the evening, Dirty Disco features talents such as JELO, Deko-ze, Ticky Ty, Jerome Robins and many more. In tribute to Dr. Trance, each DJ taking the stage pays their respects to him as a broadcaster and community artist in their own unique ways.
