The father of four severed his spinal cord, dislocated his hip, and broke seven ribs in the Jan. 7 mishap and was in intensive care at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. He's a filmmaker, former professional water skier, and co-owner (with his wife, Jenny) of three toy stores in Muskoka.
Family and friends have started a crowd-funding campaign to assist with equipping his home and cars to allow easier access, and purchase devices to help him get around. The campaign target is $500K, and by Jan. 18, it had already raised more than $137K.
