I've just been schooled in the best way possible. Learning is incredibly fun when you're not forced to.

Among many confirmations and revelations, i was blown away by the reference to moving the 'camera' around in the studio and now i'm gonna have to listen to older studio recordings versus newer recordings with that in the corner of my mind.
Reminds me of the seemingly overnight birth of the quick and choppy video edits that are so ubiquitous today. Same reason i suppose; technological advances.

There seems to be a kind of new idea with regards the opening and closing of recorded songs. We've always had 'cold' opens and ends, however - the word I would use for some of the new stuff would be 'abrupt'. :-)
