Leaving Twitter or Joining Mastodon

Or as I like to say "leaving the twit"
There has been a mad charge to join the micro blogging site Mastodon in the past month with the momentum picking up in the last few days. Cory Doctorow explains what is happening and why: https://doctorow.medium.com/social-quitting-1ce85b67b456.

If you are on Twitter and would like to join Mastodon here are some links for you:
(join Mastodon from your computer using your browser) don't start with an app.
How to create an account: https://www.firstpost.com/tech/how-to/how-to-create-an-account-on-mastodon-7620221.html
You will be asked to join a server, here is a List of Servers in North America https://joinmastodon.org/servers You will be asked to pick one.
Some new recruits have been able to sign on to mstdn.ca or another good choice might be mastodon.sdf.org.
Once you are on Mastodon you can look for friends or groups you know who are on the service.
You may want to let your followers or those you follow on Twitter and FaceBook your handle on Mastodon like I have here:
