Making NY Sound Like FM Of Old

Postby Marsbar » Sat Apr 11, 2015 12:33 pm

Some folks have mentioned to us how cool it would be to hear NYTheSpirit.com through the old FM radios. Yes it can be done as explained in the FAQ, but if you're like me and somewhat handicapped with Tech Toys then this may be what you need.

And it's priced right too....

You can also buy a product and it's a cigarette lighter you plug into the wall. Just plug in the item Marsbar posted about and you can broadcast all over your house, allowing you to tune in different stereos to your own selected broadcast station....maybe even the neighbor can pick up the transmission too, if they are in range. (and if you give the radio frequency #) and they will tell 2 friends...and so on...and so on ... lol

I'm not too techy either, I just bought a cable to run the computer to my stereo across the room. Marsbar's music sounds awesome throughout the house now. Can't wait for summer when I take one system outside..it's secluded and near the highway..so loud sound playing is never an issue. Shows all that I have style also.

I should have mentioned - I think this thing only works in a car. But not sure. From what NewGold is saying it may work everywhere. Seems like it might be great for those spending the summer on the deck or by the pool.

As mentioned in the first post - Tech stuff is not my main forte. I know enough to get buy.

The smart guy when it comes to the amazing tech elements on NYTheSpirit are thanks to Igor Loukine.

I would be very interested to know if anyone has one of these devices and/or have tried one.

I use one of these:
http://www.hoffcobrands.com/product/celltronix-universal-fm-transmitter.asp

They are widely available at highway truck stops, that's where I bought mine. Runs off AAA cells or with a USB cord. I broadcast nythespirit to any FM stereo radio in the house with this. :)

I also have one similar to the link David posted above, it's great because you can plug in a USB stick loaded with mp3s, and it plays them directly. The Celltronix has way better range though.
