Nythespirit mentioned in a Computer Magazine

Postby MoodyBlue » Sun Nov 29, 2015 12:00 am

Hi gang

As you may know by now, I am a user and fan of Linux and free libre open source software.
Recently I have been writing articles about LaTeX. Notice the spelling that differentiates this from the rubber stuff.

LaTeX is the great grandfather (great grandmother) of desktop publishing. The articles that I have been writing appear in a free online magazine called Full Circle. My latest article is about bibliographies. I wanted to spice the article up so created a short report within the article about "Sgt. Pepper".

That had to include the short exchange that David and I had about Sgt. Pepper. And I made a pitch for everyone to tune in to nythespirit.com

So to read the article go to http://dl.fullcirclemagazine.org/issue103_en.pdf.

Best regards,

John

Nice article, MoodyBlue!

The plug for nythespirit.com was shameless and tastefully done in context. :D

It's nice to see the efforts of Linux users sharing their tips and tricks of the trade with the community. Full Circle is an excellent online magazine for computer users.

The various Linux distro-based user-contributed magazines are a vital source of information for people who want to actually understand what their computer can do... Reminds me of the numerous computer user groups back in the 80's, many have fallen by the wayside, but Linux still inspires that sort of enthusiasm.

I've started writing several articles for the PCLinuxOS Magazine, a similar publication, http://www.pclinuxos.com/ , but I have yet to complete one and submit it for publication.
I used to write monthly articles for the Toronto Timex-Sinclair User Group Magazine back in the 80's, but it's hard to find Round To-its for that sort of thing these days.

I guess I'd better get off my duff, you're putting me to shame :D

Thanks Sunbeam

It is fun to contribute back to free software by writing how-tos. I am sure the PCLinuxOS magazine will welcome your articles.

Best regards,

John aka MB

Thanks MoodyBlue....we appreciate you helping to get the word out.

We are in the early stages of building NYTheSpirit, and your sharing the URL with others is extremely helpful.
