I saw it on Snopes so it must be true:

The lead singer of The Diamonds when they recorded hits such as "Little Darlin'" was Dave Somerville, a native of Guelph, Ontario, who was born in 1933 and is still alive. (Somerville left The Diamonds in 1961, although since the late 1980s he has sung with original members of the group from time to time.)

The Diamonds were one of the most popular vocal groups of the 1950s, a quartet of Canadians best known for their hit "Little Darlin'," which reached the #2 spot on Billboard's singles chart in 1957.

I did not know this.

It's very cool that he is still alive.

You may want to ask him about this story:

Ted Kowalski, original tenor of the Canadian 1950s vocal quartet the Diamonds, has died after a battle with heart disease. He was 79.

The Whitby, Ont., native received three gold records with the Diamonds, for Little Darlin', Silhouettes and The Stroll.

The band was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at the 1984 Juno Awards.
