BIO:
Ivar Hamilton has been active in the music business his entire career.
He started at CFNY in 1979 and was responsible for the Listener’s Choice Program and Original Import Show as well as Import Music Director through the end of 1988.
Working in promotion at PolyGram and eventually moving into marketing, Ivar joined Universal Music Canada in 1998 when the two companies merged. He has worked in many capacities at Universal and is currently the VP of Catalogue Marketing and Sports Music Marketing. Recently he worked on re-issue projects for Rush’s debut album and The Tragically Hip’s – ‘Fully Completely’ and with the Universal team, works the world’s largest active music catalogue. In Sports he is annually involved with The Canadian Football League on the Grey Cup as well as overseeing Universal’s partnerships with The Toronto Maple Leafs and Raptors.
Still an avid music collector, he maintains a very extensive music collection that in constantly been added to.
