We’re so fortunate to be able to present Shawn Phillips at our new Hugh’s Room - Of course he did appear in the old venue.

Shawn Phillips really has been “the best kept secret in the music business” according to the legendary Bill Graham - (he of San Francisco’s Fillmore Auditorium fame). Shawn taught Joni Mitchell her first guitar techniques, he also gave George Harrison his first lessons on Sitar. Shawn has co-write credit for Donovan’s ‘Season of the Witch’.

Shawn Phillips has played with many of the world’s finest musicians, including Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood. To date Shawn has produced 27 albums and still, to this day refuses to bow down to commercialism in the music industry.

Shawn has continued to evolve his creative skills in his concerts. He is able to bring the sounds of an entire Symphony Orchestra into each venue. He plays all instruments - all solo, and all in real time!
